TOUR

Lake Manyara / Ngorongoro / Serengeti / Tarangire

Duration

6 DAYS

01 Day by Day

Day 1 – Moshi to Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro

Distance

3-4 hours drive from Moshi

Your first day takes you to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact but richly diverse park stretched along the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The shallow soda lake draws enormous flocks of flamingo, and the park is famed for its tree-climbing lions — large prides that drape themselves across the branches of fig and acacia trees in the midday heat. Over 300 bird species, herds of elephant, giraffe, zebra, and baboon round out an impressive opening day. In the late afternoon you drive up into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for the night. Drive: 3-4 hours from Moshi | Meals: picnic lunch, dinner
Day 2 – Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti

Distance

Crater drive + 3 hours drive to Serengeti

An early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater — one of the most wildlife-dense environments on the planet. Enclosed within the walls of an ancient volcanic caldera, the crater floor supports lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, hippo, and a rare resident population of black rhino. The Big Five in a single morning is a realistic prospect. After your game drive you ascend the crater wall and continue westward toward the Serengeti. Activity: crater game drive | Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
Day 3 – Full Day Serengeti

Distance

Full day in park

You’ve arrived in the Serengeti — and today is your first full day to explore it. The scale of the place reveals itself slowly: the endless plains, the silence broken only by distant calls, the sudden drama of a hunt or a kill. A picnic lunch keeps you out in the field all day. By evening, the Serengeti will have already exceeded whatever you imagined it would be. Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
Day 4 – Full Day Serengeti

Distance

Full day in park

Another full day in the Serengeti, and no two days here are ever the same. With the entire ecosystem constantly in motion — predators, prey, and the great herds shifting across the plains — every drive brings something new. This is the day to go deeper into areas you haven’t explored yet, or to return to a spot from yesterday and see how the story has continued. Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
Day 5 – Serengeti to Tarangire National Park

Distance

Approx 4-5 hours drive

You leave the Serengeti and head to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underappreciated destinations. The Tarangire River draws more elephants per square kilometre than almost anywhere else in Africa — herds of dozens move through the park during the dry season, alongside giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and an extraordinary variety of birds. The landscape of ancient baobabs gives the park a distinctive, painterly quality. Dinner and overnight at your camp or lodge. Drive: approx 4-5 hours | Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
Day 6 – Tarangire Morning Drive and Return to Moshi

Distance

3-4 hours drive to Moshi

A final morning game drive in Tarangire before the drive back to Moshi. Elephants are almost guaranteed, and the morning light through the baobabs makes for some of the best photography of the entire trip. By early afternoon you’re on the road home, arriving in Moshi in time for a late lunch or early dinner — and the quiet satisfaction of a safari well done. Drive: 3-4 hours to Moshi | Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch
