TOUR

Tarangire / Serengeti / Ngorongoro

Duration

5 DAYS

01 Day by Day

Day 1 – Moshi to Tarangire National Park

Distance

3-4 hours drive from Moshi

The adventure starts with a drive to Tarangire National Park, where the Tarangire River draws some of the largest elephant concentrations in Africa. Giraffe move between the ancient baobabs, lions rest in the shade, and the air buzzes with hundreds of bird species. A picnic lunch inside the park gives you maximum time on the game drive before heading to your camp or lodge for the evening. Drive: 3-4 hours from Moshi | Meals: picnic lunch, dinner
Day 2 – Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

Distance

6 hours drive

Today you make the long but rewarding drive to the Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro highlands with their misty forests and sweeping views. Arriving in the Serengeti in the afternoon, you head straight out on a game drive — the plains open up around you and the scale of it all starts to sink in. Dinner at your camp or lodge with the sounds of the bush all around. Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
Day 3 – Full Day Serengeti

Distance

Full day in park

A full, uninterrupted day in the Serengeti. No drives between parks, no schedules — just the open plains and whatever they choose to show you today. Whether it’s a cheetah hunt at dawn, a lion pride with cubs, or the sheer spectacle of a thousand wildebeest moving in formation, the Serengeti delivers. Picnic lunch in the field, back to camp by evening. Activity: full day game drive | Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
Day 4 – Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Distance

Approx 3 hours drive

You drive from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving at the crater rim in the late afternoon. At 2,286 metres the air is noticeably cooler and the views across the crater are extraordinary — a vast bowl of wilderness stretching out below you. Pack a warm layer for the evening. Tomorrow, you go in. Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
Day 5 – Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Moshi

Distance

Crater drive + drive back to Moshi

The final day delivers one of Africa’s greatest experiences: a full game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Within this ancient caldera you’ll find an astonishing density of wildlife — lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo, and the critically endangered black rhino all share this enclosed ecosystem. The Big Five in a single morning is genuinely achievable. After the crater drive, you ascend the rim and make the journey back to Moshi. Activity: crater game drive | Drive back to Moshi | Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch
