TOUR

Lake Manyara / Lake Eyasi

Duration

2 DAYS

01 Day by Day

Day 1 – Moshi to Lake Manyara to Lake Eyasi

Distance

3-4 hours drive from Moshi

Your first day heads to Lake Manyara National Park — a beautiful and birder’s paradise tucked beneath the Rift Valley escarpment. The tree-climbing lions are the star attraction, but the park rewards in every direction: flamingos on the lake, elephants in the forest, giraffe on the open plains. After the game drive you head to your accommodation near Lake Eyasi for the night, in anticipation of a very different kind of experience tomorrow. Drive: 3-4 hours from Moshi | Meals: picnic lunch, dinner
Day 2 – Lake Eyasi Hadzabe and Datooga Experience

Distance

Approx 3 hours drive to Moshi

A pre-dawn wake-up call for one of the most remarkable cultural experiences in East Africa. You join the Hadzabe tribe — one of the last true hunter-gatherers on earth — on their morning hunt. Armed with handmade bows and arrows, they move through the bush with extraordinary skill, tracking animals by sound and footprint in ways that have been passed down for thousands of years. You’re welcome to participate, not just observe. After the hunt, you visit the Datooga tribe, skilled metalworkers who forge beautiful jewellery from brass. In the afternoon, you return to Moshi. Activity: Hadzabe hunt + Datooga village visit | Meals: breakfast, lunch
